Early Life and Education

George Washington was born on February 22, 1732, at Pope's Creek Plantation in Westmoreland County, Virginia. Military Career

In 1753, at the age of 21, Washington was appointed as a major in the Virginia Regiment. He played a crucial role in the French and Indian War (1754-1763),where he gained valuable military experience and leadership skills. In 1755, he was promoted to colonel and led the Virginia forces under General Edward Braddock. Despite suffering a defeat at the Battle of the Monongahela, Washington emerged as a respected military commander.

American Revolution
